Our Origins

The Question

What if a treat could do more than taste good? What if it could turn fear into focus- and make a vet visit feel like no big deal for both pets and animal professionals?

The process

it had to be possible. founders Tara and jodi worked together to test every option (even dog lollipops) before landing on something that actually made a difference: a long, soft, breakable treat that could be held in one hand and offered in the moment.

courage Treats are vet-designed snacks that help dogs (and their people) through the hard stuff. VetStix, is a chickpea-based, breadstick-style reward made for real moments of care. Created for our clinic, now shared with the world because every tail wag counts.

Our Founders

A vet, a business owner, and a believer in better care for every kind of pup.

Jodi, a lifelong creative who founded Stay Pet Resort after a decade in Hollywood, partnered with Dr. Tara Klimovitz, a veterinarian who built and sold her own practice before joining Stay Pet Veterinary. Together, they’ve grown a warm, fear-free hospital built around genuine comfort for pets and their people. Inspired by Tara’s treat-motivated pups and their shared mission to reduce stress in vet care, they created Courage Treats and their signature VetStix to help pets feel calmer and more confident
